Live From Mumbai: Street Vendors (episode-1)

Live From Mumbai is a small 25 part project that made while I was pursuing my undergraduate degree in Mass Communication. Irrespective of how the reports were packaged, I was disappointed that this body of work could not find its place on any platform. Moreover, I felt that in some way or the other I had cheated the participants who gave me their time and energy to open up about civic issues. I take this opportunity to make it clear that I had not participated in this project for some degree but to become a more learned citizen of this country and this city.

If you don't know your people, how would you ever be able to serve them?

On this episode of Street Vendors, I explore the world of negotiations. The street vendors often get kicked around by the local authorities for failing to comply to the local rules and regulations. Here's a short episode exploring the issue in Mumbai. I have also spoken to a local civic authority who provided some clarity on the issue.
